Deleting your Arewa Threads account
You can delete your Arewa Threads account at any time, from the website or from the app. This page explains exactly what happens, what we delete, and what we have to keep.

On the website
Sign in, open Your account, and choose Delete my account. You will be asked for your password, and then shown what will be removed before anything happens.
In the Arewa Threads app
Open the app, go to Account, then Settings, then Delete my account. The app asks for your password and shows you the same summary.
If you cannot sign in
Email support@arewathreads.com from the address on your account, or call +2347062017631. We will verify who you are and start the deletion for you.
The 30-day grace period
Confirming does not delete everything straight away. Your account is closed immediately - your shop, listings and profile come off the site, and nobody can order from you or message you. Your personal data is permanently erased 30 days later.
You can cancel at any point in those 30 days by signing in again. Everything comes back exactly as it was. After the 30 days there is nothing to restore.
What is deleted
Permanently erased, and not recoverable afterwards:
- Your name, phone number, email address and date of birth
- Every delivery address you have saved
- All measurement profiles, including profiles for anyone you measure for
- Your profile photo, any looks you shared with the community, and product or completion photographs you uploaded
- Your conversations with Malam Musa
- Identity documents and verification records
- Bank account and payout details
- Push notification tokens for your phones and tablets
- Your La'ada Points balance
- Style boards, saved items, recently viewed items and your notification preferences
Reviews you wrote keep their star rating so vendors are not unfairly affected, but your name is replaced and anything identifying is removed.
What we keep, and why
Some records cannot be erased, because Nigerian tax and accounting law requires us to keep them and because deleting them would damage records belonging to other people. Everything below is kept with your identity removed - your name is replaced by an anonymous reference that cannot be traced back to you.
- Order, payment, commission, payout and refund records
- Required for tax and accounting, and so that the tailor or shop you dealt with keeps a complete history of their own work.
- Administrative audit entries
- Required so that decisions made by our staff remain accountable.
- Aggregate platform statistics
- These contain no personal data and cannot identify you.
Anonymised financial records are kept for 7 years, after which they are destroyed.
Your email address and phone number are released immediately, so you can register again with the same details whenever you like.
What can stop a deletion
We cannot delete an account that still has business outstanding, because doing so would leave the other party without a record of what they are owed. If anything is in the way, the app tells you exactly what and where to resolve it.
